Mr. Askar Nikolaevich Kabikeev has been appointed as the first-ever Honorary Consul General of India stationed in Astrakhan (Russian Federation) with effect from 25 October 2018. Mr. Kabikeev would have jurisdiction over Astrakhan, Volgograd, Rostov-on-Don, Krasnodar, Chechnya, Dagestan and Stavropol.
The Honorary Consul General will assist in carrying out economic and commercial functions within his jurisdiction. He would also assist Indian citizens in certain consular functions.
